Crêperie Saint-Georges: A Breton Classic
Let’s be frank, any visit to Brittany practically demands a stop at a crêperie, or two it’s almost. And Crêperie Saint-Georges? Is that considered something of a Rennes institution. Tucked away on Rue du Chapitre, which is a very quaint street, this place, well, it serves up galettes and crêpes, the traditional buckwheat pancakes, made with just a whole lot of love. What makes it special? Possibly the quality of the ingredients and possibly just the classic Breton setting. I mean the building it is in, the ancient beams, very rustic furniture. It all makes the visit really memorable. Maybe you could go for a classic galette filled with ham, cheese, and an egg, or possibly a sweet crêpe smothered in caramel au beurre salé, that’s salted butter caramel. Trust you me, this is how you do comfort food right. Anyway, the local cider that they have totally completes the experience.

Le Tire Bouchon: Wine and Dine
Anyway, for any person who thinks of themself as a wine lover, alright. It’s very worth having a look at Le Tire Bouchon. Located in the center, so to speak, of Rennes. Maybe it provides an expansive wine list. This list includes French wines but a few options from other wine-producing regions, as well. The menu may compliment the wines they offer up. As I was saying, this menu might feature some cheese and charcuterie boards along with tapas, the small Spanish plates. Alright, you know, something for people who’d prefer some slightly heavier dishes too. I mean, you may feel the need. In this context, this can include dishes like steak tartare or even risotto. The vibe? Now that is cosy, in some respects, with stone walls and very dim lighting. As a matter of fact, these walls totally promote intimacy. Very different compared to a sports bar. As a matter of fact, for anyone that’s trying to have a bit of relaxed yet kinda refined evening.
