Top 5 Tarapoto Full-Day Tours: Reviews & Recommendations

Tarapoto, is that a doorway into the lush Amazon rainforest, is more or less offering a number of seriously incredible day trip experiences that, actually, can leave you with lasting memories. Very often there will be kayaking trips and horseback riding available too it’s almost like it’s meant to show you this stunning scenery from more or less every angle.

Speaking of angles, the area around the lagoon has many little eateries and spots where you can seriously get local fare, so too it’s perfect for taste experiences and getting a seriously good grasp on that local lifestyle. Oh and remember to seriously be ready for an early rise – just to make the most of it, really – as Laguna Azul is often two hours outside Tarapoto.

2. Ahuashiyacu Waterfall Tour

Ahuashiyacu is that seriously stunning cascade not so far outside Tarapoto and makes for an easy, easy escape that actually puts you right in touch with local nature. As I was saying, Ahuashiyacu can definitely make for a quick trip from the center, which I felt really worked so you weren’t traveling for a huge time to go get somewhere seriously special. It tends to be an excellent way to see and, well, hear some beautiful, seriously remarkable nature.

The trails heading towards the cascade, more or less meander through thick rainforest scenery, offering views and the soothing nature sound that makes that visit quite special. When I first showed up to that waterfall, it actually took my breath because the water cascades down these rocks covered by vegetation, resulting in these seriously cool looking little swimming holes at the bottom. Seriously taking a plunge over here actually is more or less a must-do; that is, that it’s a fantastic way refresh and absorb the environment. Definitely wear good shoes too it’s almost like you know you’ll do just a little trekking and you need a stable, sure grip to handle those rocks surrounding the pool.

3. Pumarinri Lodge Experience

Wanting something truly immersive? Pumarinri Lodge can definitely offer a bit longer day tour and it often provides more than the regular visit; in fact, I often feel that its experience of seriously stepping into what a rainforest is really about. Seriously located beside the Huallaga River, that lodge does definitely bring comfortable places to unwind and really quite authentic jungle exploration.

During a Pumarinri day experience, visitors very often go on led jungle hikes so you learn about local flora, local fauna, and native medicinal techniques, so too it’s very academic. If you’re interested in something different, take a ride through the river with the lodge very often available and a really quite magnificent sight, where it’s almost like there’s seriously untouched views around a river area filled with so much biodiversity. Actually think that if I wanted a comprehensive nature experience far from city centers this lodge is a quite worthy choice.

If nature conservation speaks very much to what’s important to your soul, seriously consider this full day tour inside the Cordillera Escalera Regional Conservation Area. I would go as far as to say this destination truly is seriously important for that location simply because of the super rich variety of ecosystems and natural reserves.

Tours over here have jungle walks with local guides so that tourists do get to learn firsthand details regarding nearby bird, wild animal, local plant life, not to mention nature conservation tips, too it’s almost educational. I tell you, the Cataratas de Carpishuyacu together with the village, La Union are actually worth a day to experience nature, too it’s almost like exploring culture away from where most of that tourism happens. The waterfalls at Carpishuyacu often necessitate a seriously moderate level journey using landscapes bursting at the seams, with plenty of bird life, sounds that go through where that rainforest feels really raw.

Following the cascade quest, La Union would give visitors a really neat immersion directly into the local peoples of this place by allowing you to observe local customs firsthand, sample food, even speak with a person to know much more regarding everyday activity and cultures. From experience it does provide a beautiful combination between spectacular rainforests plus immersion into some sort nearby community making its seriously amazing experiences for people aiming something distinct while traveling, alright?
