1. Pirajá: A Taste of Rio in São Paulo

Pirajá Vila Madalena

So, first off, there’s Pirajá. Just picture yourself there: It’s more or less a tribute to the oh so chill vibe of Rio de Janeiro, in the quite amazing middle of Vila Madalena. The ambiance alone? Very capturing, basically. Think, that casual boteco feel – super laid-back, people chatting, that general low hum. The quite delicious food? It tends to be Brazilian comfort food with that extra kick. Their bolinho de bacalhau is, arguably, famous. Just order some. Crispy on the outside, almost creamy on the inside, that pairs perfectly with a very cold beer. Actually, talking about drinks, you absolutely have to give their caipirinhas a try, alright? They’re really good at that. So, are you after a relaxed spot to kinda unwind and experience some Brazilian flavors? That would be it, yeah.

2. Veloso Bar: Home of the Famous Coxinha

Veloso Bar Vila Madalena

That said, let’s chat about Veloso Bar, then. Now, this very famous place? Often known for one totally awesome thing: its coxinha. You might call it a super well-loved Brazilian snack that’s like a teardrop-shaped fritter usually stuffed with shredded chicken. However, people come from, basically, all over just to taste Veloso’s version. Now, what really sets them very apart? People tell you is the almost creamy filling combined with that extra crispy, perfectly fried exterior. Really good, I suggest you see for yourself, yeah? Anyhow, people sometimes say the bar is super crowded, and sometimes quite difficult to get a spot, specifically on the weekends. Still, many find it totally worth any amount of the wait. Just relax, grab a drink and chill, almost everyone does it, don’t stress too much about it.
