Top 5 White Mountains Car Tours: An Expert Review
The White Mountains, so they’re this awesome area in New Hampshire, present folks like your with some seriously grand driving. I mean, this place has seriously stunning views, like tall peaks that are covered with forest, twisting roads, that go through classic small villages. Your visit offers some pretty interesting opportunities to experience a slice of true New England. What this area is basically made for, is car tours! And with many to choose from, I mean how are people supposed to make up their minds about that kind of stuff? So, I made a list of my choices to allow anyone, that just so happens to read my recommendations, to enjoy their next automotive excursion.
1. Kancamagus Highway: A National Scenic Byway
Now, if I had to only make a recommendation, this highway could very well be what I decide on, it might just be the queen of New England drives. This drive shows what nature looks like on steroids. It spans roughly 34 miles, this highway presents your very captivating looks at covered bridges, waterfalls, and overlooks with truly breathtaking mountain sights. As you take your time to meander down this beauty, it’s nearly impossible not to be able to snap some photos.
For instance, there’s this Pemigewasset Overlook which might present your eyes with vistas of the Pemigewasset Wilderness. Your stopping to observe the Sabbaday Falls offers something of a beautiful view that only increases how majestic a spot in nature really is. There might be lots of picnic areas here, so make plans with your relatives for a midday meal, you get me?
The best time of year, for me that I know of, is during October. That’s where the fall colors are in full swing, giving that vibrant view a total boost. The road follows that of the Swift River, meaning there will be opportunities aplenty for taking the family swimming, that is if the weather agrees.

2. The Mount Washington Auto Road: Ascend to the Summit
What a wild thing it can feel like ascending the tallest mountain in the Northeastern U.S.! This very thrilling drive might give anyone some seriously stunning 360-degree sights all that way to the top, is that fascinating or what?
As a matter of fact, It’s about eight miles to get up Mount Washington. Its grade gets steeper as you gain ground, and it twists as much as it can. So anyway, it is one crazy, demanding ride! Very slowly but very surely, different landscapes start cropping up on the side, with vegetation seemingly evolving as your climb gets further ahead. The road presents something rather historic, since it first opened back in 1861.
As I was saying, the top tends to experience severe weather, even during springtime. Folks that decide to make the trip must stay very updated when it involves weather patterns. It just takes a rapid swing in mother nature to go from sunny, to cloudy, rainy and freezing, sometimes even all in the same day.

3. Franconia Notch State Park: A Scenic Parkway
Franconia Notch presents something very scenic. And the park is located right through the White Mountains, so the views, too it’s almost like I am saying, make people unable to look away. What’s available, anyway, ranges from beautiful routes to recreational activities galore.
For example, one awesome area lies smack dab in the middle of what they call the Flume Gorge, basically a natural chasm featuring a pretty sweet waterfall to make things real scenic. People find they can get some seriously remarkable sights from the Basin, and it presents a place for people of different abilities. Now the Aerial Tramway will carry you to the very apex of the Cannon Mountain, which allows the family to savor sights and the air up high.
That aside, The Old Man of the Mountain, you’ll quickly realize after arriving, is gone because it was basically a natural rock formation to look almost like an old dude. It’s just something that brings that nostalgic vibe from way back. By the way, the recreation path grants chances to bike or take leisurely walks, I promise your Instagram feed might just turn viral.

4. Crawford Notch: History and Beauty Combined
The dramatic pass located between the imposing mountain ranges is known as Crawford Notch. Basically, the park presents visitors with chances to examine some spots tied to culture, amazing areas of beauty, and many outside activities. Okay so, you can visit some sights and truly soak up everything.
Let’s say you head over to the Willey House site, it’s an old home buried by a landslide in 1826. To visit this region really gives one perspective to understand some stories about living up in this neck of the forests way back when. And by the way, for one totally awesome panorama of a look at everything below, there’s Ripley Falls, for that one-of-a-kind viewpoint from up high.
I would bet people might just savor the chance to partake in activities out in mother nature, like for example there are options like hiking trails and some pretty chill areas to chill at. I mean, if your like me and just wanna hang back, that sort of thing might work for a lazy morning/afternoon session of peace and relaxation.

5. The White Mountain Trail: A Loop Through History
What an attraction that shows your many pretty areas, taking everyone on a drive along winding roadways through little communities. All that is White Mountain Trail, so any driver or person making the travel is bound to have themselves one really neat and thorough driving experience.
It almost passes your through different areas. As a matter of fact, there is something almost vintage, seeing covered bridges. Those very nostalgic views might provide many amazing photo ops, I’ll wager!
As I was saying, It offers a few experiences tied to lifestyle, offering up old-fashioned shops and some artsy studios too. These attractions really show people New England’s cultural appeal, providing an invitation, in a way, to explore a slice of life away from town.
