1. Puy de Dôme: Conquering the Giant

As you head into the town, set your sights to explore ancient cobblestone streets and the impressive Saint-Flour Cathedral. If the ancient stones don’t pull you in, almost the panoramic scenes may, as you stare off, practically, over the rolling Auvergne countryside.
The Musée de la Haute-Auvergne is right there if you like local culture a little. You will find it inside a previous episcopal palace. 3. Salers: One of France’s “Most Beautiful Villages”
The place, Salers, it got itself labeled as one of the “most beautiful villages” in France, actually. And, it sure deserves it, usually. Its well-preserved medieval structure, with those dark volcanic stones, gives it, clearly, this exceptional, slightly time-travel-ish type ambiance.
Make sure you spend, just a little, time getting lost in its narrow streets and, well, visit Place Tyssandier d’Escous. Very close by the panoramic views offered there are certainly amazing and will probably stick in your mind forever, actually. The town’s also known, by the way, for its namesake cow breed, the Salers, whose delicious cheese, it’s often offered up by nearby regional cheese companies and restaurants. And oh by the way, did I mention the cows’ tasty cheese? Seriously!

4. Vulcania: An Awesome Volcanic Theme Park
Vulcania does something fairly different. It takes you inside a volcanic, somewhat of a thrilling theme park which also is basically instructional. Okay, that doesn’t say quite how good the exhibits and fun-looking 4D adventures there really are, actually, which gives a shot of adrenalin with some fun, too.
It provides a fun plus a way to grasp volcanic science. That’s kind of great, actually. The kids love it to bits and that kind of excitement can bring a thrill, definitely. Anyone, basically, considering learning some of earth science or simply really trying to spend a day loaded with great excitement shouldn’t skip Vulcania, though. It could even be a highlight to your, you know, family experience on a day expedition.

5. Chaudes-Aigues: Thermal Spa Treatment
Consider getting a spa experience right from the little spa village that’s been dubbed Chaudes-Aigues. That will almost complete the Auvergne get-away package so consider Chaudes-Aigues! The town might be boasting some thermal spring water source that’s pretty scorching–France’s most hottest natural thermal origin to boot.
