Beacon Hill, so charming and steeped in history, almost begs to be explored. Very picturesque cobblestone streets and gas lamps sort of create this unique atmosphere that you just can’t get anywhere else. But here is the thing: very picturesque doesn’t always equal practical, especially when you’re figuring out how to get around. There is something else to keep in mind. With this option, you’re mostly paying for reliability and that luxury experience. Old Town Trolley Tours of Boston

For something with a slightly more historical feel, and actually more leisurely, you should try the Old Town Trolley Tours, so, too, a classic. Maybe you are here to check out some history? It means you can see all the major spots at your own pace.

Yeah, so there’s this guided tour, alright? You could say you’ll hear all kinds of fun facts and stories about Beacon Hill. I would say it’s often a pretty charming way to check out the area. You could hop off at the State House or Acorn Street, and wander around a bit before catching the next trolley. Is that pretty nice or what? 3. Ride-Sharing Apps (Uber/Lyft): Quick and Convenient

Ride-Sharing Apps

You can’t really talk city transportation now without very giving rideshare apps like Uber and Lyft a nod, can you? These are, often, your really reliable options for pretty much zipping around. Download the app, type your destination, that and boom!, a driver is usually nearby. And really, because these operate all the time, finding a ride in Beacon Hill is almost generally quick and straightforward.

You need to watch out for is this thing called surge pricing, mostly during peak hours. As I was saying, if it is a super busy time, such as during a convention or after a Red Sox baseball, the prices go up. So, anyway, you’ll maybe want to just factor that into your plans. If you are visiting from out of town, just like, download these apps beforehand, so, too, you’re totally ready. Read our full review: Ride-Sharing Apps Boston Full Review and Details. Boston Taxi Service

Sometimes there is nothing wrong with a classic, right? Spotting a yellow taxi in Boston, in short, is, you know, very iconic. You could wave one down on the street or find one near a hotel. It depends on how close it is, as they sometimes sit in taxi ranks, sort of. If you don’t actually like dealing with apps and prefer that face-to-face contact, you might call a Boston taxi.

Just something else to know is, generally, that cabs usually follow set routes, that is, they know Boston, that and if you’re headed to somewhere a bit further outside of Beacon Hill, that cab drivers could potentially offer insight. Anyway, now the price, basically, usually comes out just a bit, alright, maybe more expensive than your rideshare app, specifically, during busy times. 5. MBTA (The “T”): Public Transportation

MBTA Boston

If you are checking out a more, shall we say, budget-friendly choice, look at using the MBTA – pretty much everyone around here refers to it as “The T”. Beacon Hill is, actually, close to a few subway stations, such as Park Street and Government Center. So, that almost means that hopping on the T is sort of easy. It can link you to various other neighborhoods in the city.

This one’s another plus, actually! The T rides fairly often, so you aren’t actually stuck waiting for ages on the platform. What’s really a factor, just as you’d find in any urban public transport system, anyway, can be crowds at certain times. So, you will just need to plan your travels a bit and, of course, swipe that CharlieCard! Is that the Boston way, or what? Read our full review: MBTA Boston Full Review and Details.
