Old Town Trolley Tours of Washington DC

Want to cover a whole, whole lot of ground with minimal effort? So, you might want to kind of hop on board the Old Town Trolley Tours, just a pretty solid choice. Anyway, it isn’t a tour as such; it is more like your own custom adventure because you’re hopping on and off where you please. Anyway, it provides, in some respects, a really comprehensive overview of DC’s key monuments and neighborhoods. That said, experienced guides often offer a bit of, well you know, context and maybe very colorful stories which they just wouldn’t get anywhere else. So, it works at their own speed and they still learn a ton about what happened way back when.

For instance, one time, when I took my cousins around on it, the guide told the rather colorful tale of the Hay-Adams Hotel. Do you know what I mean? Like, we just wouldn’t have known about it, if you get what I’m saying. It’s all so very handy.

2. DC by Foot: Free Walking Tours

DC by Foot Free Walking Tours

If you ask me, DC by Foot is pretty much an exceptional pick if they really don’t feel like dropping all their money on, like, transport or what have you. Well, anyway, these guys often just have a variety of different free walking tours available; you almost get everything from the National Mall tours to themed neighborhood tours, so you can explore the capital just exactly how they like it. This kind of “pay-what-you-want” thing usually makes things kind of affordable and, yeah, there are really knowledgeable guides out there who usually just want to spread the love when it concerns education and local tales.

I remember that one guide just showing everyone hidden architectural features and pointing out small stories and stuff; it actually made history very personable and accessible. You know, they will show you, for instance, where exactly certain big figures stood when the Constitution was signed and show just exactly the same path and maybe even the building where JFK maybe took his girl.

As a matter of fact, if people really just feel like gliding just very swiftly around the district, or even just seeing monuments in style and something that really feels, maybe a little futuristic. Anyway, these tours are usually pretty suitable. And even if the premise is funny at first, the guides that help you kind of get moving and are informative as they go, really kind of give you your dollar’s worth.

One of my colleagues actually went on this and now still laughs that he can actually maneuver such a fun tool, which says something, so I mean if he could do it… I would imagine mostly anyone would do, honestly!
