You will have the opportunity to experience their award-winning cranberry wines which will definitely surprise you, because I guess you might think of cranberries as just for Thanksgiving. Think again, because too it’s almost like this is some type of cranberry wine that just has this kick of tangy and sweet goodness. Then, take a wander, if you want, all over the farm; if the season is right, wade right in, actually, through the cranberry bogs. It is basically just photo perfection, trust me. Visiting the Gravenhurst Farmers’ Market, very much so, adds a certain community flavor to your wine trip, very. I think you should get ready to discover local artisans and growers. 3. Johnston’s Cranberry Marsh & Muskoka Lakes Winery: Bog-to-Bottle Experience
Are you set for this, I mean do you feel the excitement? We should continue this wine excitement over at Johnston’s Cranberry Marsh & Muskoka Lakes Winery! Not only does it let you taste excellent cranberry wines but rather you see everything right where the magic literally starts! You begin by understanding that their wine grapes come from great soil and great places.
Try what they call the Bog to Bottle tour – which is what, yet a behind-the-scenes peak into this complex process of how they harvest. During harvest season I heard that, actually, they put on waders and step directly into those purple red cranberry bogs-it basically looks spectacular and the photo opportunities are like, wow! Post tour and pre wine- make sure you visit the tasting room, now to taste a hand picked list of the special wines available there- dry to sweet to dessert wines…they’ve got this.
Johnston’s is more than a winery, which is basically more, it’s very much about educating someone on agriculture. That very place has historical details about how this family came into agriculture and they will happily share! In some respects, you’re very welcome and almost immediately become like their family, when there!

4. Wine Tasting at Taboo Muskoka Resort
If relaxation is kind of your number 1 priority then picture this, which is taking a dip in the sophisticated, luxury, super relaxing and beautiful lakeside Taboo Muskoka Resort. That area isn’t just famous for its lake and being by the water-but they are seriously passionate when they showcase some of the best vintages around, and some top notch culinary choices! Arguably the scenery will capture your heart and imagination.
They are all about showcasing Ontario produced wine and they very carefully put a wine list together that helps teach each wine drinker the specifics about Ontario growing spots, wine flavors and local expert level techniques-with each glass! To make everything fun they allow pairing of locally sourced foods-which has a cool focus of really having fun with Muskoka tastes and it brings food and wine to an impressive point.
Don’t even worry a tiny bit about visiting! I guess the staff just are experts at giving really expert recommendations-that pair together seamlessly, so the best is to visit often!

5. Clear Lake Brewing Co.: A Craft Beverage Diversion
If someone wants to wander from tasting wine constantly, guess what-lets make a jump on over to the Clear Lake Brewing Co.! As a matter of fact, for all of you beer people out there-it is a terrific choice with super finely crafted brews. Instead of wine samples now there are craft beer samples-basically all located in the super great and gorgeous scenery found locally. The beers taste better too, I think.
Enjoy this local spot where that lake air just meets the brewing process and expertise and some expert relaxing feelings. Enjoy beer flights-each designed to show and to let you taste a selection of the specialty beers that each brewer designs on site, at their local shop. In other words there is a beer, at the beer shop that someone is going to love.
If you’d just love hanging at the beer spot there’s also the beer garden and picnic space where hanging and having local fare is encouraged. As I was saying the neighborhood often has events in concert and BBQ food to taste with your choice of samples- this is almost can’t miss!
