During one vacation I really heard from other tourists just how much they loved finding tiny cafes, in a way sipping on Turkish tea right next to these huge ancient sites.

You get so close to history here. We stopped in Perge a bit and that place has layers upon layers. The stadium practically echoes with cheers from centuries past, and imagining that life really makes the stones feel so much more alive.

Ready for cotton castle views? Pamukkale, almost known as the “Cotton Castle,” has white terraces that look like something from a fantasy. These are travertine terraces formed by mineral-rich thermal waters, so imagine taking a walk, even paddling, through warm, soothing water. And right there is Hierapolis, which shows off ruins and one gigantic necropolis. That area will show how important it used to be back then. The whole setup is really something.

Walking on those terraces feels almost surreal. These bright white hills against the blue sky, with that warm water running just nearby, and people are joking that my camera did overtime, and in some respects I couldn’t stop clicking, but so too it’s such a visual feast. Also, exploring Hierapolis afterward really added depth; to be honest that’s almost more than just beautiful landscapes; so too it’s culture too.
