Top Windsor & Eton Adventure Tours: Reviews & Recommendations

Windsor and Eton, they are iconic spots filled with history, lovely views, and spots that would be great for taking photos. Planning an adventure, it can be, well, it’s almost a little tricky given the sheer number of options. So, too I have put together a list of five tours there, focusing a bit more on ones that give unique experiences and lots of interesting things to look at.

Windsor Castle

1. Windsor Castle Guided Tour plus Changing of the Guard

Going to Windsor, Windsor Castle is that must-see spot. What could be more awesome, it might be experiencing that whole Changing of the Guard thing, it happens if you show up there at just the right time, and a guided tour making sure that you don’t miss anything important?

These guided tours are, in a way, cool since someone knows exactly where to go to, and they usually give that background information and stories so that seeing what you see will mean a bit more. They’ll point out things you would very likely not even think of by yourself. Very cool, really.

Think about watching the guards do their ceremony thing, it has pomp, ceremony, and a whole load of history surrounding all of it, you get taken all through it. And after, maybe spending that afternoon exploring around that castle.

2. River Cruise along the Thames

The Thames is one attraction by itself, it might be. Doing a river cruise, so, too it lets you view Windsor and Eton from this totally different angle. Rather than fighting all those crowds along the usual tourist paths, relax, be on a boat. Loads of the cruises give live commentary regarding those historical landmarks along there. Sit and just soak it all up. You’ll feel very, very happy. Very nice views, as I was saying.

Depending on what time it happens to be when you visit, maybe try to locate that afternoon tea cruise, I’m sure you’d find one somewhere. Sip tea, nibble on goodies while floating along is one great idea. Otherwise, choose some shorter trip. Loads of choices around.

3. Eton College Visit and Tour

Eton College has one huge history behind it. So, too I’d really say this, for anyone fascinated regarding education or history, go on to do a tour there. You’ll find things out, like famous past students, get an insight regarding those traditions. Maybe some anecdotes. Getting taken through all the oldest spots on the site and such. Anyway, interesting stories.

These tours, basically, show you that architecture of it. Find about that whole culture, how exactly did it shape the ones that went on through to go off and do stuff afterward? Some places might not be visitable whenever term’s going on so find those tour times before doing anything.

4. Windsor Great Park Exploration

Away from all those historical spots, Windsor Great Park can be just what someone is looking to find if they want, maybe some space to be outdoors. Apparently, what could be more wonderful it’s almost going there, going hiking and see where the trails will take you? Also picnics? And biking? Very, very easy and loads to do, apparently.

Loads of tours are there focusing on areas in the park especially. Some give guided walks which talk about nature spots to spot, give facts about that environment. Find a guided tour or head off and explore, anyway enjoy those views.

5. Windsor and Eton Combined Walking Tour

So that people may be getting both spots in just one trip is ideal, going on a walking tour is certainly just what to do. This tour usually gives loads of info and the little histories regarding both spots and, clearly, just what their relation happens to be.

This tour often happens so you see places like Windsor Castle, Eton College. Ones often unseen that maybe other tours might happen to skip. Get all the highlights alongside ones only a person who really knows what they’re doing would point at. I really suggest that if anyone finds themselves torn to just one. Booking In Advance: During any high season I will highly encourage securing a ticket just a bit ahead.

What is Included: What parts that you may not access so do ask ahead and keep asking till, clearly, you’ll hear exactly the correct details.

Walking: Am I really going to struggle doing all of this?

Comfort: Footwear for me. Am I, basically, feeling up to it with it’s heat or other seasonal things, because you have to carry that stuff with you and be prepared!
