Ubud & Uluwatu Sunset Tour 2025: A Full Review

There’s no orchestra or instruments; instead, a group of about 70 men just sit in a circle and chant “chak-chak-chak” to create the music. Seriously, the sound is very powerful and almost hypnotic. It just sort of surrounds you completely.

Basically, the dance tells the story of the Ramayana, which is a classic Hindu tale. You have characters in these really amazing costumes acting out the story of a prince rescuing his wife from a demon king. In the meantime, the sun is setting behind them, painting the sky with these incredible orange and purple colors. The finale, of course, involves a lot of fire, which is just totally spectacular against the dark sky. To be honest, it is a really memorable performance, something you likely will not forget.

A Perfect Finish: Seafood Dinner on Jimbaran Beach

Finally, after all that excitement, the tour ends in just about the most relaxing way possible. You’ll head over to nearby Jimbaran Bay for dinner. I mean, your table is literally right on the sand, just a few feet from the little waves lapping at the shore. It is actually a very calm and romantic setting with all the tables lit by candles. The main thing to eat here is, like, a fresh seafood barbecue. You often get to see all the fresh fish, prawns, and calamari, and then they grill it for you right there.

So, you just get to sit there with your feet in the sand, listening to the ocean, and eating some really delicious, simply cooked food. It’s a pretty amazing way to sort of process the very full day you have just had. Honestly, it’s a bit of a popular spot, so there is a nice, lively buzz in the air, but it still feels very personal and calm. It’s pretty much the perfect contrast to the intense energy of the Kecak dance, you know?
