Carl Schurz Park; hugging that eastern edge of Manhattan at around East 84th to East 90th streets, provides that combination of quiet landscapes, a rich history, and amazing views. Arguably named after that German immigrant; very much a U.S. Secretary of the Interior, this green spot also houses Gracie Mansion, that official residence of New York City’s Mayor, that adds a certain charm to your visit.
