Pepperoni Rolls West Virginia

Okay, so it’s almost not West Virginia unless we bring up the pepperoni roll. Really, it is like the state’s culinary hug. Back in the day, Italian miners needed something simple, yet filling, for lunch, that is where this gem comes from. Think soft, doughy bread that envelops sticks (or sometimes slices!) of pepperoni, all baked until slightly golden brown, yet quite comforting. Often, these delicious things might have a sprinkle of cheese or a touch of spicy peppers tucked in too, that could make it even more fun. Every bakery claims to have the ultimate version, and honestly, finding your favorite is like discovering treasure! One could easily become obsessed!

You could swing by JR’s Donut Castle in Parkersburg; it’s almost famous for these handheld delights. And while you are at it, grab a donut too! That is, if you like donuts. Or you could explore a bit. Nearly every little corner store and bakery will offer you its unique twist on the iconic roll. Some love a fluffy roll; some want it dense, just try them all till you are completely satisfied. Read our full review: West Virginia Pepperoni Rolls Full Review and Details
