History, math, medicine, lit, art… pretty much everything is under one roof. The building itself could be viewed as rather impressive, it kinda sits atop a small hill, that is true, and watches over Yerevan. Getting inside means like you’re suddenly zapped way, way back through like centuries, where you can seriously gaze upon handwritten books – like these totally amazing decorated pages that monks worked on for, I am talking years. So too it’s cool that many texts held within Matenadaran kinda offer awesome views into the region’s past, culture and connections with other ancient communities. It’s one seriously cool dive into not only Armenia’s history, but, by the way, human history. You get me?

2. National Gallery of Armenia: A Canvas of Armenian Art

Someone who likes super surreal type movies ought really to come and see Sergey Parajanov’s work at the awesome Parajanov Museum located that much at Yerevan.
